First feeble attempt at blogging

Basically, I created this blog because I'm lazy. A lot of people have told me recently that they can't wait to hear all about my summer at Mayo clinic, and I just figured it would be easier to put it all in one place.

As a disclaimer, I do not claim to be proficient at blogging whatsoever. I probably will not be consistent, I might have poor grammar, and I might be really boring. However, I am all for efficiency, so here goes nothing.

Here's what I know about my summer so far.
-I arrive at Mayo in 3 days (EEK!)
-I am part of the Summer III nursing externship program which has been going on for 47ish something years.
-I am going to be on an Intensive Progressive Cardiology floor. I'm not really sure exactly what this all entails, but it sounds fancy, and I think I will mainly be working with patients before and after they come out of heart surgery (pacemaker implants, angiograms, radio-frequency ablations). They aren't in an intensive care unit, but they still require frequent monitoring and stuff. (I still have a lot to learn)
-I am living at Crossroads College which is a Christian college about 2 1/2 miles from Mayo.
-I am living in a townhome with 6 other girls from all over the country. I have my own bedroom (supposedly) and shared living spaces.
-There are over 100 people in the Summer III program
-I get to take the bus to work everyday
-I have to cook my own meals
-The church I want to try out is also 2 1/2 miles away
-All of my possessions are all taking up one seat's worth of space in my car right now because my family and I are taking a mini vacation on our way up. This meant that in addition to my worldly possessions, we had to pack suitcases for 5 people and fit those same five people in the car. It's safe to say that I will be living lightly.
-I'm excited and terrified.
-And that is all I know! Yay!
