Move-In Day

Today started out great. After having a delicious donut for breakfast, my family set out for the final 2 hours of  our trip to Rochester. It lasted For.Ev.Er. I had a growing lump of clay in my stomach that I tried to forget about by driving my family nuts. I had so many emotions mixing around that I couldn't tell if I was happy, sad, excited, terrified, bored, anxious, sleepy, hyper, panicking, or all of the above. Nevertheless, we made it.

At check-in, I got about 300 coupons and magazines and a free t-shirt and other welcoming things. My townhome is a lot nicer than I thought it would be. I have my own bedroom on the third floor. There's a bathroom on each floor and the laundry is on my floor as well. Moving in took all of 8 minutes, and I met some of my roommates. They hail from all over the States. They come from Wisconsin, Texas, Washington DC, Ohio, and Georgia. From the 4 hours that I've known them, they all seem to be very nice.

After a bit, I became an official adult as I went to the grocery store to buy a full load of groceries for myself for the first time. I'll let you know how it went once I've tried eating for a few days.

When I got back, I ran into my first mishap. I got locked out of my house. You would think that after carrying keys around with me for years, I would have learned this by now, but apparently my learning curve leaves things to be desired. I had to march back into the check-in center to the very nice ladies that I was trying to impress and let them know that I had gotten locked out in the first two hours. Smooth Caroline. They'll be sure to remember you now.

Later, we had the welcome dinner at 3. I'm not sure if they were trying to compensate for time zones or something, but we definitely had dinner at 3. There are a lot of different people here. Nurses do not come in one cookie cutter shape. It's going to be very cool to get to know them all.

Tomorrow starts at 7:30. The next day at 6:30. Ew.

P.S. You can tell the meal was designed for nurses. It was healthy. Give me some chips people! Who needs a veggie platter?

P.P.S. My address this summer is:
Caroline Klingbeil

TaTa for now!
